Day 1

Arrive in Tokyo

An English-speaking tour conductor will meet customers at the airport, and assist them in boarding the taxi to their hotel in Tokyo. Arrive at Hotel in Tokyo, Free time after arrival.

07:50 – 08:00 Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo Main Tower 3F Check-in Counter
The tour will depart from Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo for Tokyo sightseeing via tour bus.
National Diet Building (Drive-by)
This is the center of the Japanese Government. Don’t let the impressive Western-style architecture fool you–this building is constructed almost entirely out of pure Japanese materials.
Imperial Palace (Drive-by)
Formerly known as Edo Castle, this palace is the residence of the Emperor of Japan.
The grounds are lush with green foliage and provide a relaxing spot for Tokyoites and visitors alike.
Tsukiji Outer Market (50 min)
Japan’s No.1 place for seafood with over 400 shops including fresh fish retailers, grocers, and restaurants. Enjoy shopping and try some local food while exploring this one-of-a-kind location.
Kabukiza (Drive-by)
A classic Japanese-style theater where traditional Kabuki performances are held.
Tokyo Skytree Town® (70 min)
Enjoy freely exploring Tokyo Skytree®, Tokyo Solamachi® which features many traditional Tokyo shops, an aquarium, planetarium, and more.
12:30 Senso-ji Temple & Nakamise Shopping Street (45 min)
Senso-ji, Tokyo’s oldest temple, offers plenty to see including the bright red Kaminarimon Gate, a statue of the god of thunder, and a five-story pagoda. The bustling street known as “Nakamise” stretches for about 250 m from Kaminarimon Gate to Senso-ji Temple and is filled with a plethora of shops.
Tour ends in Asakusa after enjoying a stroll around.

Day 3

Tokyo – Mt. Fuji – Hakone – Kyoto

07:35 – 09:00 Pick-up Service
Pick-up service is available at hotel accommodation. Please be at the meeting location at least 10 minutes before departure.
Mt. Fuji 5th Station (30 min)
The bus will head up to the 5th Station along the Subaru Line.
The 5th Station is situated at 2,300 meters (7,546 ft) above sea level. At this height, participants will be amazed at spectacular, breathtaking views from above the clouds.
Lunch (50 min)
Lake Ashi Cruise (15 min)
This crater lake along the southwest wall of the caldera of Mt. Hakone was formed by a powerful volcanic eruption nearly 3,000 years ago, and provides postcard views of Mt. Fuji towering 30 km northwest. Admire the superb view of Mt. Fuji from aboard a ship.
*The tour may be guided to another ropeway or an alternative destination if the Lake Ashi cruise operation is suspended, or depending on road conditions, etc.
Komagatake Ropeway (50 min)
Take a 7-minute ropeway ride to the peak of Mt. Komagatake. A total of 50 minutes will be spent here, including time to walk around at the peak. Take a cableway ride up to the spiritual Hakone Shrine Mototsumiya (original shrine) that nestles at the mountaintop.
*The tour may be guided to another ropeway or an alternative destination if the Komagatake ropeway operation is suspended, or depending on road conditions, etc.
17:00 – 20:10 Odawara Station
From Odawara Station to Kyoto Station (There may be a transfer at Shizuoka Station or Nagoya Station) (180 min)
Go to Kyoto by Hikari or Kodama Shinkansen
Arrive at Kyoto Station
An English-speaking tour conductor will meet participants at Kyoto Station.
A drop-off service by taxi to the accommodation is available.

Day 4

Kyoto and Nara

Depart from Hotel in Kyoto City
Participants are picked up by bus and taken to Kyoto Avanti. Please be at the meeting location at least 10 minutes before departure.
Enter Nijo Castle (50 min)
A World Heritage site. Tour the historical castle completed in 1626, which was built to provide lodging for Tokugawa Shogun and as a palladium for Kyoto Imperial Palace. The impressive, elaborate carvings and decors in the Ninomaru Palace are a must-see.
Visit Kinkaku-ji Temple (45 min)
A World Heritage site. The wooden architecture is covered in thin layers of pure gold and is surrounded by a beautiful pond.
[Except Mondays] Kyoto Imperial Palace (40 min)
See the Kyoto Imperial Palace, which was used as the Emperor’s residence until about 150 years ago.
[Mondays (and Tuesdays when Monday is a national holiday)] Kitano Tenmangu Shrine (40 min)
On Mondays (and Tuesdays if a national holiday falls on the preceding Monday), this tour will visit Kitano Tenmangu Shrine instead of the Kyoto Imperial Palace. It is famous for housing the God of scholarship. This shrine’s main hall is a designated national treasure. The shrine is especially great to see during the plum blossom and autumn leaf seasons.
Lunch (Japanese/Western style buffet lunch) (60 min)
From Kyoto to Nara
Head to Nara via Nara Keinawa Expressway
Todai-ji Temple (Great Buddha) / Nara Park
A World Heritage site. This is the symbol of the Nara Period and one of the world’s largest wooden structures. Its huge main hall and bronze Great Buddha are impressive to behold.
Kasuga Taisha Shrine
This Nara Period shrine is designated as a World Heritage Site. The deer of Nara Park are thought to be the shrine messengers.
Nara Nagomikan
The largest souvenir shop in Nara. Enjoy yourself in this spacious shop and look for the perfect souvenir.

Remarks:

[Edo Tokyo Tour (Day 2)]
1. Admission to the Tokyo Skytree® Tembo Deck is not included in the tour booking charge. Before entering, please pay a separate charge of JPY 2,060 for each person age 18 and older, JPY 1,540 for each person age 12~17, JPY 930 for each person age 6~11, and JPY 620 for each person age 4~5.
2. On Wednesdays, Sundays, and other days when Tsukiji Outer Market is closed, an alternate destination of Hamarikyu Gardens, Imperial Palace East Gardens, Imperial Palace Plaza Nijubashi Bridge, etc. may be visited instead. Also, this tour will not enter the Tsukiji Inner Market nor be guided to the tuna auctions.

Mt. Fuji & Hakone Day Tour (Day 3)
1. Hakone Komagatake Ropeway may be omitted due to heavy traffic. The tour will not be cancelled and refunds will not be issued for this reason.
2. If the Fuji Subaru Line to Mt. Fuji’s 5th station is blocked due to road surface freezing or accidents, the tour will be taken to the highest elevation point possible. No alternative destinations are planned when the tour reaches beyond the 1st station.
When the tour has to turn back at the 1st station, or when the Fuji Subaru Line is completely blocked, the tour will visit Fuji Visitor Center or Lake Kawaguchi. Please note that an alternative itinerary may also be omitted depending on road conditions.

3. Due to weather conditions, Mt. Fuji may not be visible even from the base. However, the tour will not be cancelled and refunds will not be given for this reason.
4. Mt. Fuji’s 5th station is typically 10 to 15 degrees Celsius colder than Tokyo. On tours from autumn to spring, please bring a coat and other warm clothing.
5. If the Lake Ashi Cruise or Komagatake Ropeway are not running due to inclement weather or maintenance, or as a result of road or organization circumstances, they may be omitted and replaced with one or more of the following:
Hakone-en Aquarium, Hakone Ropeway, Owakudani Valley, Hakone Pirate Ship, Narukawa Art Museum, Hakone Checkpoint, Lake Kawaguchi Cruise, Lake Kawaguchi Ropeway, Itchiku Kubota Art Museum, Hakone Shrine, etc., but this will not be used as a reason to cancel the tour, and refunds will not be given for this reason.
6. Please note that the tour will not be guided to the seasonal sightseeing spots if the cherry blossoms are not at their best viewing time, or if the tour cannot proceed to Komagatake Ropeway due to road or organization circumstances.
7. GPS-enabled audio guides are available on this tour in Chinese, Spanish, Italian, Thai, French, and Indonesian. If required, please request at the time of booking. Requests made on the day of the tour will not be accepted.
8. The arrival time to Kyoto may be considerably delayed depending on road conditions and other factors. The trip from Odawara to Kyoto may require a train transfer midway at Shizuoka Station or Nagoya Station. If so, a staff member will assist participants in transferring. If the tour runs late due to traffic congestion, etc, and misses the scheduled train, transportation from Odawara to Kyoto will use non-reserved seats on the Shinkansen, and participants may not be able to sit down.

[Kyoto & Nara Tour (Day 4)]

1. The Kyoto Imperial Palace is closed on the following days. As such, the tour will visit Kitano Tenmangu Shrine instead.
(Mondays, Tuesday if Monday is a national holiday, May 14-17 for the Aoi Festival, New Year’s holidays, and whenever there is an Imperial Household event).
2. The tour will visit Nishi Hongan-ji Temple instead of Kitano Tenmangu Shrine on June 25, Sept. 25 and Dec. 25. Nijo Castle is closed on Tuesdays in January, July, August, and December. (Closed on the following day if Tuesday is a holiday.) If closed, or if the tour is during the year-end/New Year’s holidays, Ryoan-ji Temple will be visited instead.
3. During the Gion Festival (Sakimatsuri, July 15 – 16), drop-off service to Karasuma Kyoto Hotel and Hotel Nikko Princess Kyoto will be unavailable due to traffic restrictions.
4. At Kasuga Taisha Shrine, the tour does not include entrance to areas requiring admission.
5. Nara Nagomikan may be omitted from the itinerary if it is closed on the day of the tour, or as a result of traffic congestion.
6. Connection to the Kyoto Night Tour or Kyoto Maiko Dinner is not possible.
[Japan Combination Package]

1. This tour is a combination package made up from multiple Sunrise Tours plans.

2. An English-speaking interpreter guide or English-speaking assistant will accompany each tour from the meeting point until the tour end. Furthermore, please note that the interpreter guide or assistant is generally different for each tour.

3. Customers with late-night arrivals or departures at Kansai International Airport may need to wait at the airport for several hours as the shared taxi service will be unavailable.

4. This is a special tour for international visitors. Please understand that residents of Japan cannot make bookings for this tour.

5. Airport pick-up & drop-off is available at Haneda Airport or Itami Airport. In such cases, please inform us when booking.

6. If the minimum number of participants is not met by 20 days prior to the tour date, the tour may be cancelled..
