- The original pineapple slicer, made in The Netherlands
- Cores and slices fresh pineapple in seconds!
- Push the quick-release button on the handle to slide the pinapple rings off, or use the wedger to make pineapple chunks
- Use the pineapple shell as a fruit salad bowl or for cocktails!
- Dishwasher safe
The device that cuts the slices into pieces is equally easy, just remove the handle from the corer, slip the slicer over the top and push down. It will generate a lot of juice so have something to catch it.
I’ve hand sliced pineapples for years and it isn’t that hard but you do have to be careful and it does take a bit longer. This is so simple I can take a couple of pineapples and turn them into chunks in less than 5 minutes, chunks into some bowls, clean up the mess and I’m all done. Doing it by hand means cutting the pineapple into quarters, manually slicing out the core, cutting again into 8ths, slicing along the rind and then cutting the chunks. That’s enough work and generates enough extra waste that I don’t tend to even want to do an entire pineapple at once.
Fruit lovers will make the cost back after a few pineapples compared to buying pineapple chunks from the grocery store. Cool gadget. ———————————————————————————————- January 18, 2017 Package Quantity: 1|Verified Purchase 12-11-17: Changed back to a Five for customer service. Tomorrow’s Kitchen sent us a replacement handle and we are back in business and the unit is working Great again. I want to thank Tomorrow’s Kitchen for replacing the handle / internal clip.
This is a revised review. One year later the handle will not stay in place due to the plastic retention clip not holding the handle in place. This makes the unit impossible to use. I have informed Tomorrow’s Kitchen of this issue and hope they will reply. I will update if they do so. At this time the unit is not usable and I could not recommend it.
Works Great. I definite time saver and you don’t waste any edible portion of the Pineapple. The additional slicer is a bit flimsy and takes some force to get it started but it works. Easy to clean and can put in dishwasher but I find it easy enough to just rinse in the sink when done. We now have Pineapple all the time because this makes it so easy. Recommended
